| This year’s ECPR weekend is being held on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th July. The event this year will again be sponsored by Wildwind who provide our number 1 raffle prize, a sailing holiday to Greece for two. It’s rude not to buy a raffle ticket with more great prizes also available.More information on Wildwind can be found on their website.Camping is available from Friday night all the way through until Monday and is free. The bar and galley will be open all weekend with a meal on Saturday evening (pre booking on Saturday is required).Saturday will consist of two medium distance races around the River Blackwater, the first race will start around 1pm with the briefing scheduled for midday. The briefing for Sunday’s race is scheduled for 6pm Saturday night, we recommend you attend this even if you think you have heard it a number of times.
Sunday is the big race day with the East Coast Piers Race starting at 9.30am and the Colne Point Race starting at around 9.50am. Race reception will be open all the way through to 9.15am to receive your entries. Fast Dinghies have also been invited along this year to celebrate our 25th year. A PY of 917 or faster will be required and dinghies can only enter the Colne Point Race on Sunday. Please see the separate notice of race for dinghy entries. Certain safety equipment is required for you to take part in the race, please see the ECPR website for more details. Your boat will be checked for all of this equipment as you pass onto the launching area. Entry prices for this year are £45 for two handed boats and £35 for single handed boats. All money goes to charity so remember to bring some spare cash to buy a T-shirt. Please note that age restrictions apply and parental consent is needed for anyone under the age of 18.
